Non-extensive statistical mechanics and particle spectra in elementary interactions
نویسنده
چکیده
We generalize Hagedorn’s statistical theory of momentum spectra of particles produced in high-energy collisions using Tsallis’ formalism of non-extensive statistical mechanics. Suitable non-extensive grand canonical partition functions are introduced for both fermions and bosons. Average occupation numbers and moments of transverse momenta are evaluated in an analytic way. We analyse the energy dependence of the non-extensitivity parameter q as well as the q-dependence of the Hagedorn temperature. We also take into account the multiplicity. As a final result we obtain formulas for differential cross sections that are in very good agreement with e+e− annihilation experiments. 1 permanent address: School of Mathematical Sciences, Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, Mile End Road, London E1 4NS, England

Systematic Analysis of the Non-Extensive Statistical Approach in High Energy Particle Collisions - Experiment vs. Theory
The analysis of high-energy particle collisions is an excellent testbed for the non-extensive statistical approach. In these reactions we are far from the thermodynamical limit. In small colliding systems, such as electron-positron or nuclear collisions, the number of particles is several orders of magnitude smaller than the Avogadro number; therefore, finite-size and fluctuation effects strong...
متن کاملHeading towards chaos criterion for quantum field systems
Chaos criterion for quantum field theory is proposed. Its accordance with classical chaos criterion is demonstrated in the semi-classical limit of quantum mechanics. Originally phenomenon of chaos was associated with problems of classical mechanics and statistical physics. Attempt of substantiation of statistical mechanics initiated intensive study of chaos and uncover its basic properties main...
متن کاملPion and muon mass difference: a determining factor in elementary particle mass distribution
The most fundamental to the elementary particles is the mass they posses and it would be of importance to explore a possible relationship amongst their masses. Here, an attempt is made to investigate this important aspect irrespective of their nature or scheme of classification. We show that there exists a striking tendency for successive mass differences between elementary particles to be clos...

Since particles such as molecules, atoms and nuclei are composite particles, it is important to recognize that physics must be invariant for the composite particles and their constituent particles, this requirement is called particle invariance in this paper. But difficulties arise immediately because for fermion we use the Dirac equation, for meson we use the Klein-Gordon equation and for clas...
